My neighbour created a hole in our roof, and yesterday, when it rained, the water seeped through my ceiling!!! Had to quickly evacuate my stuff and then get pails and basins to catch the water. Sigh.

This morning, my mum and I looked through the Classified ads for temp jobs. There were a few suitable ones but I didn't dare to call. Then I remembered that everyone thinks our voices sound alike, so I told her to call. :)

Watched a bit of I Not Stupid today, but gave it up for Showbiz. Anyway, it was enough to make me feel that anger/frustration again. Like, why do people look down on others just because they don't do as well in school?? They don't have the right to judge. Grr...

The Waterboys' last episode was LAST NIGHT!!! It was nearly ruined by the Arsenal-Man Utd match on ESPN, but good thing my dad was kind enough and he didn't insist too much on watching it. ...Wow, what a fantastic ending! Now I really really want to go to Japan. But really, you should have seen the synchronised swimming performance they put up. Brilliant. And finally I remembered to switch the langauge mode to the original Japanese one, so no more dubbing! But it was already the last episode...! Anyway, they sounded so much better (i.e. less sissy) like that. I wonder how I can get hold of the Waterboys movie VCD or DVD...?? Oh yeah, I went to the shop in Ginza yesterday, but they were SELLING, not renting. Anyway, the prices are really low!! If you want to buy, you should go there. :)

Well, I went for my Mass Comm interview on Friday morning. I had no idea where to go after following 2 arrows, so I decided to change tactics and follow this boy in front of me who LOOKED like he was going for the interview also (don't ask me why, it's just my intuition). Turned out that I was right in the end, but anyway, he also got lost halfway. So I changed tactics again and followed this bunch of people going up a spiral staircase. (INTUITION!!!) Well, finally, after walking quite a bit and trying not to appear lost (plus, I was really hot under my jacket but I didn't want to take it off - stubborness, not intuition, this time), I found another ARROW. So I happily followed the arrow (much more reliable than people, I realised) and found the interview place. The lost boy wasn't too far behind. I wonder why he didn't follow the arrow when it was actually right in front of him. But he chose to turn left!... ???

The interview didn't go well at all but it's no use worrying about it. Results are out this Friday. Meanwhile, I'm excited about NP because I discovered that they have a S.A.M. machine.

At night, I met my Thai class buddy at PS. We had dinner at Crystal Jade (my first time!). Very nice. Then we shopped around... I saw this FILA bag going at 30% off but it was the last piece left and was taken by another girl for contemplation and reflection. After a long while, she put it back onto the shelf. The salesgirl and my buddy were like, "Go! Go! Go get it!" But lo and behold, the coveted FILA bag caught the attention of another girl. Anyway, she got embarrassed and didn't dare to take it even though we were like, it's ok lah... Can you imagine, all this action happening in a little FILA shop over a little FILA bag??! Girls. OK in the end, I got the bag. And at 30% off!!! :) Then we went to watch My Girl... Brilliant movie! Excellent! Loved it! Very sweet and touching too...Made me miss Narada and Chiang Mai all over again.

American Idol John Stevens. His performance last Wednesday was fantastic, wasn't it? So classy, so entertaining. I didn't even realise that he forgot his lines! But he was real cool about it aye. It's Motown Night this week! Cool!

Last things...
Went for a job interview at Chill'inn on Saturday. Almost got the job but had to turn it down in the end.
Went for a concert at MGS at night with the little poser boys and girls from my church, hehehe. After that, went to KAP. Wah, very happening ah. It's been quite a while since I had to go through this. Saw Bert and Seow Mi Mi. Ha!

Haha I forgot to say that at Triple 3 that night, we had a round-the-table discussion about which was the best way to get a flat stomach (haha guess who started it). Of course, being girls, everyone had lots of ideas and they ranged from the Atkins diet to enlisting in the army, lol. I was seriously tempted to try out the latter after hearing how the brother of one of the girls lost 10kg in BMT. TEN KG!!! The most suicidal suggestion was for me to do XXX number of crunches and run for 40 minutes everyday. !!! (Actually, my heart gave a joyful leap when I thought I heard three minutes. Oh well.) Anyway, at the end of it all, we reached the conclusion that the solution was to do sit-ups. :) We'll see...

Today I went to Flowers in the Attic at The Heeren to change the skirt that my friends gave me. I ended up making really good friends with the shop assistant there, lol. Anyway, I chose a black pleated skirt with floral prints (looks better than it sounds) and a pair of funky retro earrings, haha. I spent a looooong time at the shop, so I guess it's no wonder that I've come to like it very much. I wouldn't mind working there part-time. So we just chatted and chatted... and I practically shared my whole life story with her (much to my mother's horror). :) She introduced me to the upcoming Singapore Film Fest and now I'm quite revved up to go. I picked up the book at the little Uniquely Singapore hut (lol) and later I'm going to look through it and see which films I would like to watch.

Other than that, I ate the best claypot chicken rice at the Orchard Emerald Foodcourt. :) See, I just cannot not talk about food.

I also went to the library@esplanade because I wanted to borrow some Jap/Korean movies but they didn't have. Maybe I should have looked in those shops at Ginza instead.

Anyway, it's been such a long time since I hit Orchard. It kinda hit me that I had sorta lost touch with the latest trends and all now that I'm not in school anymore, lol. I miss my friends too...

Well I'm quite happy that my day was pretty well spent...at least I learnt a few things (such as, you need a CashCard to pay your library fines :(, OG Orchard is having a Moving Out Sale, there is such a thing as jelly sandals, etc)... Now I'm looking forward to watching lots and lots of movies! :)

So my DCG went to Triple 3 last night! It was such a wonderful dinner. :) There was even music and wine! Haha...

OK so first I forced myself to wear a blouse instead of a T-shirt (tough decision man...) but then I brought along my jacket (of course) so that it could be my stomach-cover. Hehehe... That was a wise decision I'm telling you! Coz I really needed it at the end of the whole dinner.

There was like raw Jap food (sashimi, sushi, salmon), funny European food, pork ribs that had barely any meat on them, high-class cheese (but I just took the biscuits plain because that's what I wanted only), onions filled with dunno what....... then! there! was! DUCK! HONEY GLAZED HAM! COOKED SALMON! and... DESSERT!!! The. Dessert. Was. Totally. Amazing.

Yup there was also music... I think the 3 men were from the Philippines? Anyway they were pretty good lah. Haha... I mean, they came to our table and sang Xiao Wei. That song is slowly becoming one of my favourites man... :) And after we left the restaurant, we were going to the toilet when we saw them waiting for the lift, and they graciously sang us one last song, Right Here Waiting. Haha it was so funny... The lifts kept coming but they had to tell the people inside not to wait for them because they were still in the middle of the song! We were all standing there feeling pretty bad about it so finally the lift came again and they left.

By the way, the toilet cubicles have no ventilation at all and they're a claustrophobic's nightmare. Maybe they were trying to be posh, but I think being practical is more important here...heh.

Of course, the best part of the dinner was the fellowship! It was great fun talking...and laughing over stories about JC life...and moaning at lame jokes...lol. One of my friends was seriously attracted (ha-ha) to this other girl in the restaurant who had really long, slim legs and was wearing a frightfully short, black, fluffy skirt. Ha. Anyway, I thought she looked like she had an ostrich's bum. Haha, sorry...

OK now is almost time for Waterboys! :)

haha well more about this bukit timah hill thing that was this morning...the primary school kids from my church were going for this excursion so i had to tag along and like kill myself. heh. but i made it ok!!! the kids were cute anyway. :) i could literally see some of them turning darker and darker as the sun became hotter and hotter. but as for me, what can i say man...my skin is probably like sun-resistant or something. heh. sigh... hmm but oh man, kids nowadays ah... some of the boys had oakley sunglasses and caps lor. tsk! haha...

haha yeah why am i always talking about food?? it's so ironic coz actually my greatest goal in life at the moment is...(as you all know)...to get a flat stomah and slimmer arms. haha... should i sign up for pilates??? my auntie's colleague is apparantly on the plump side but her stomach is flat like anything coz of pilates. :p i really need something to get me exercising...like maybe if i have to PAY for it, i'll definitely be disciplined enough. but then again i don't wanna spend that money when the park is just opposite (kinda!) my house!!! haha...

yay thai class is tonight, i'm really looking forward to it! well then after that i gotta go down to marche (dunno which one exactly) to meet my thai friend and that's real cool too. can't wait for that... she's here with some other thais to do a modelling show at the thai embassy or something, but the show's over already and they're going back tomorrow morning. i'm actually gonna be meeting models tonight! help!!!

hmm speaking about that, i really wanna watch My Girl. heard lots of good things about it eh... haha but i didn't win any free preview passes. lol... i keep thinking that i'm the only person who joins such contests. will most probably watch next week lah.

for the last two days i was helping out at the shop outside my house in the afternoons. they had baking classes for kids (KIDS AGAIN!) and it was a total chaos but the kids were very, very cute hahahaha :) very, very cute... some of them are really smart too...and a lot of them are like less than 7 years old. i repeat, kids nowadays ah... lol.

oh oh then i met this lady who wants to interview me for an article she's writing, which is about...education in singapore!! hahahaha oh what can i tell her man...you all know i'll have lots to say on this topic. hahahaha...

watched american idol last night. my favourite guy is john stevens. :) a classy performance. wooooohoooooooooooooo!

I have this thing about fried rice you know... I must eat it like at least once a week... So strange...haha. And, of course, the duck noodles from that particular stall at the coffeeshop beside the market. That's also a weekly thing... Haha... I used to order their duck rice, but nah, like their noodles better now. :) Anyway, ate the duck noodles on Sunday, fried rice should be next soon... hehe...

And I also have this thing about my mother's cooking. After eating some ang moh food, I would be dying to eat her food. Lol. I think I should just stay away from ang moh food lah... I always feel a bit sick after eating it.

Oh why am I always talking about food... :p Anyway, we've decided on Triple THREE at Mandarin for our dinner. Guess we gotta dress up a bit but then how to eat a lot like that??? Aiyah but then again, we girls eat so little, our treater lose money ah... haha.

Watched Waterboys yesterday. So silly and that's why it's funny... haha. Every Sunday night I feel like moving to Japan and enrolling in a school there. Oh yeah but Ch 5 was showing The Replacements and I don't know why, but this kind of show always gets me very excited lol. Next week we'll be screening another of this type of show after church... Remember the Titans. Ooh...loved that. :)

Oh yeah went to KBox today with my juniors. My first time!! Haha it was pretty fun lah. I was actually surprised to see the MTVs lol. You know, last time the karaoke wasn't like that right??? Hahahaha... Anyway, I had great fun seeing Jay Chou's MTVs. Really very cool. But even better was David Tao's. :) I wish I can exchange the MTV Asia channel 20 for the Chinese MTV one...

Grrr every time I come up to the attic to use the computer, or actually, everywhere I go, I get bitten by mosquitoes!!! :(

So tonight was the BBQ at wr's house. It was so fun!! And her titi is really so unbelievably wonderfully terrifically capable! :) No. 3 also - she cooked a lot of food for us. Yay~ I mean, of course we did it ourselves too but after that they made us sit down to eat, so yah lor. Heh. Oh yeah but it rained for a while too. Anyway, there was a whole lot of food (sausages, satay, chicken wings, otah, fish, corn, sweet potato, prawns, salad, indian rojak, chicken chop, mee siam...), oh yeah, and wine too. Haha. :p Then after some of them left, cck and I went to wr's room to bum around and fake-fake on MSN......

And then after that I STILL went to Bedok 85 with my family for SOMEMORE chicken wings (BBQed!) and bah chor mee. The bah chor mee uncle was sooo nice!! When he delivered the two bowls we had ordered, my brother paid him some Hokkien compliment and then he said in Chinese, "I give you one more bowl"...And true enough, he did!! So cool right??? Anyway, later we paid him lah, coz so pai seh what. But seriously, wow, so cool to meet someone like that! Haha.

Sigh but I'm so full now... I should have taken up wr's offer and stayed overnight instead. :p

Yay I just killed ONE mosquito!! Bet there's like 3 more to go... grr

I just need ideas because someone is going to give my church group of friends a treat (so don't need to be kay kee for that one :p), my parents' anniversary is coming up, plus there might be some gatherings with the teachers during the hols......

The suggestions I have been getting so far are:

For the record, I have only been to no.3 and no.4.
I don't eat European food (I don't even eat cheese or butter!) and SINCE I'm the arranger :p hahaha we shall go to either no. 3 or no. 5!!! yay~ haha ok must be democratic and take a vote. Plus, anymore suggestions? Anymore MORE AFFORDABLE suggestions???

My juniors want to go to Kbox on Monday. Gulp....

OK now I shall go and cook my specialty dish - instant noodles. Oh oh!! I have to say here that I cooked my own lunch all by myself yesterday! :) I banned my mum from coming to my side of the kitchen, but I think she was a little unnverved because I was seriously making a lot of noise clanging the wok and saying "oh-oh" every 2 minutes... But my fried rice turned out not bad lah, haha. Yay!

I watched another Taiwanese variety show last night again!!! I was seriously laughing till no sound could come out of my mouth and my tummy was aching...hehe. It's a new one I think, with Harlem, Big S and Little S as the hosts. Each of them was given a task: Harlem had to go and find an ostrich (!) and bring it back to Taipei, Big S had to go and find this 90-year-old lady who can do yoga, and Little S had to find 5 celebrities who were willing to wear (terribly obiang) swimsuits and take a picture with her. The ostrich task was of course the craziest, but trust Harlem to be able to do it, haha. The yoga ah ma was seriously freaky!!! And the last task was considerably easier except that Little S didn't have many celebrity friends (or else they were not the kind to wake up earlier than 12 noon)......Then later when the show was shot in the studio, Jacky Cheung was the special guest, pretending to audition to be part of the band. But the two girls were swooning over this "more handsome than Jacky Cheung" guy and they wanted him to be the band leader instead of Harlem. Haha you should have seen how hurt Harlem was. :p

I forgot to say that I woke up this morning feeling really good. It rained the whole night and I didn't even have to on the fan, and this morning I just woke up feeling nice and warm and like I had a really good sleep. Heh. I haven't felt this way in a looong time... That's what I like about rain. :)

Food that I have a sudden craving for:
1) Bak Kut Teh
2) Prawn Mee
3) Fried/Grilled Chicken Wings (standard lah...)
4) Duck noodles (though I had that for lunch today)

Watched LOTR #1 last night. Totally freaked out because 1) some scary scenes, obviously, 2) I was alone, 3) the curtains were drawn and the door was closed, 4) it was raining and raining and raining... What an atmosphere.

Watched LOTR #2 today, the extended DVD version. I thought it was ok lah...but I didn't really get the same feeling I got when I watched LOTR #3 in the movie theatre. So I guess what they say must be true, that you must watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy in the movie theatre for the best experience! :)

IF and WHEN I get a new room, I would like to have:

1) A walk-in wardrobe (though how it'll be possble I have no clue. Should I persist, I might very well be walking into my own room to get my clothes)
2) A mini teeny weeny HI-FI set - I haven't had one in my room before...I would like some music. :)
3) A reading arm-chair and reading light
4) Some carpets/rugs
5) Colourful walls and furniture
6) Mirrors (lots of them :p)
7) Good lighting (white light definitely)
8) Bed laid on the floor
9) A fan in good condition
10) A CLOCK and one that WORKS

Last night we went to blk 380 for dinner. The auntie there was seriously quite wonderful. Very efficient and steady. We got all our food within minutes, which was quite amazing considering that the coffeeshop was almost packed. Later, my mum went to compliment her and she came to thank us, but she didn't dare to smile too much because she said that she'd just dropped a tooth and she didn't want to scare us, haha. Anyway, I was just thinking about how people like her are the ones who make things work. Either she really loves her job or she really needs the money. I'll choose to think that it's the former. And I think that's really great of her. I mean, working there isn't exactly the job most people would dream of. And yet, she's doing it and she's doing a good job. There will always be a need for people like her as long as there are places like coffeeshops. So there are people like her who are just suited for working there, and there are people who are not. It's not a shame working there. In fact, it's much better than working at some office but dying inside. So no matter which job you take, the only important thing is that you give it your best shot because you love it/believe in it... And when I go out into the working world, what kind of job would make me want to give it my best shot? I guess any company would want to keep moving up and getting more successful. As an employee, would I want to be part of this? If working is just about gaining personal success, then what's the point? The world does not revolve around you.

Then I think I'd be better off being my own boss.

On a less philosophical note, it's raining right now and I'm craving for grilled/fried chicken wings, haha. :p

i kinda just spent my whole day watching taiwanese variety TV shows hehehe... but i really love watching those!! :) the hosts are soooo funny... jacky wu, nai ge, NONO, cheng cheng, harlem, etc... really, one of my dreams is to go to taiwan and be part of the live audience for their shows. another similar dream of mine is to go to somewhere in america where they film Whose Line is it Anyway? and be part of the live audience as well. but for now, i think the taiwan dream is more attainable. :p

argh there's this MOSQUITO (!!!) giving me a hard time here. so itchy!! humph. eh actually last night i managed to kill one mosquito...hehe...but that's probably because it was fat with my blood and couldn't fly fast enough already, so it just couldn't escape my butter fingers... muhahaha :p

well speaking about flies, suddenly i remember this one time a couple of years ago when my senior told me about the book lord of the flies. she said it was about how houseflies were always being threatened by humans coz they like to come near our food but always end up getting whacked, so the book was about how they struggled to survive blah blah blah. u know, those underdogs becoming winners kind of story. YEAH RIGHT. one fine day i got that book from my cousin and from the moment i turned to page 1, all i saw was that it was about boys boys boys. where were the flies???!!! of course i gave her a call and i also gave her a good scolding. hehe... and no, i didn't get past page 1.

well then now about files... argh this whole computer thing is really not my cup of tea, my cup of coffee, my cup of milo... just not for me lah!! haha. grr... i have been trying to zip-unzip-zip-unzip a FILE for the whole night!! humph. i think i won't try anymore...

i went to the church office this afternoon to help them shred paper and somehow i just got into a conversation with auntie ll (our youth pastor) about my hair. she said that i didn't look that good with center parting and i should trim my hair now (like re-shape it) if i wanna grow it longer. so i went to the hair salon that she recommended and i don't know how i had the guts to step into an all empty shop with just four ladies sitting down and having a nice chat in hokkien, but that's what i did anyway. so one of them came to attend to me and... well yeah, she trimmed my hair and gave me some fringe. and she taught me how to style my hair. haha... she's nice! then i told her that i'm interested in learning how to cut hair... and she launched into this whole thing about how cutting hair will get me nowhere... but anyway i told her that i just wanna cut for friends and family, that kind of thing. not as a career choice. so anyway now i kinda have a fringe!!!!!!! just a bit. it feels pretty good trying on a new hairstyle... haha... oh but i didn't dare to take a bus home coz i was afraid that people would laugh at my new hairstyle (haha how paranoid) so my dear mum had to come and pick me up... i know i shouldn't even tell you that my house is just a few bus stops away.

Yo... ok... so this is where I'm gonna write about all the very interesting and happening stuff in my life... which means I'll probably just write like once a week... hahahaha...
